Write to your future MP

Your new MP will soon be in office, keen to listen to you and your community about the issues that matter most. So, what do you want them to know about single parents?

After the General Election, once MPs have been elected, we want to send each of them a welcome package, including a message from you! This package will be an opportunity for us to introduce Gingerbread and the issues that affect single parent families. We'll send them a new resource with some key information and a Gingerbread biscuit.

You can read below the letter we'll send to each MP.  Add your name and we'll include it and your postcode, so that they know you live in their constituency.

It's a crucial time for you to voice your concerns to your future MP.  At Gingerbread, we're determined to ensure that single parents families voices are heard by all MPs. It'll also help to build a relationship and connection -  we want to persuade our future MPs to champion single parents' needs and take action to make sure there is the right support.

  Congratulations on being elected as an MP, you can help to make single parents and their children a priority by:
  1. Committing to being a Gingerbread Champion and raising relevant issues in Parliament.
  2. Pledging to support single parent families in your constituency. 

  Committing to being a Gingerbread Champion means Gingerbread will email you updates about important pieces of legislation and developments, share key constituency and national data with you, and provide regular updates on key policy areas.

  For those who pledge to support single parent families in their constituency, we will support you with your casework on issues such as the Child Maintenance Service and Universal Credit through our advice service.
